Unimac receives contract from Qiddiya for speed park racetrack
Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has awarded
a substantial contract worth an estimated SR1.8 billion ($480 million) to the
local United Maintenance and Contracting Company (Unimac) for the construction
of the racetrack and its accompanying infrastructure at Qiddiya's Speed Park.
The comprehensive scope of this contract encompasses the
construction of the racetrack itself along with essential infrastructure such
as electrical networks, storm drainage systems, water and sewer networks,
landscape works, as well as both underground and above-ground structures and
associated civil works.

Saudi Crown Prince's vision for the next global entertainment marvel
This new racetrack will adhere to the strict requirements
set forth by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the
Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) for homologation. It will
feature necessary safety elements, drainage systems, and race electronics to
attain FIA Grade 1 / FIM Grade A certification. Located at the heart of Qiddiya
Entertainment City, the racetrack is poised to become a venue capable of
hosting prestigious events such as Formula 1 Grand Prix and MotoGP races.
Previously, in October of the previous year, it was reported
that QIC had chosen a joint venture between local contractor El-Seif
Engineering Contracting and UAE-based Alec for the construction of buildings
surrounding the racetrack at Qiddiya's Speed Park. The initial phase of these
works was estimated at around SR7 billion ($1.9 billion), with potential future
stages, still in the design phase, potentially raising the overall value up to
SR15 billion.

Additionally, QIC selected local contractor Shibh al-Jazira
Contracting in the same month to handle the infrastructure beneath the
racetrack, including tasks like mass grading, earthworks, and tunnel
construction.
Qiddiya's Ambitious Projects
QIC is currently gearing up to execute various components of
its Qiddiya Entertainment City project. In December, it was reported that a
joint venture between local firm El-Seif Engineering Contracting and China
State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) had been appointed for a
contract valued at an estimated SR2 billion ($533 million) to construct an
e-games arena.
Furthermore, QIC is also overseeing the estimated $500
million worth of roads, utilities, and tunnels packages at the development,
with preparations underway. Earlier in September, the company had selected a
joint venture between local contractor Saudi Real Estate Infrastructure Company
(Binyah) and Qatar's Infraroad Trading & Contracting Company for infrastructure
works valued at SR2.29 billion, covering various construction aspects such as
roads, bridges, and utility networks.
