The project aligns with PIF’s goals outlined in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to foster growth in the tourism sector, generate employment opportunities for local talent, attract investments, and
diversify the economy.
Taking inspiration from the design of offshore oil platforms, THE RIG pays tribute to Saudi Arabia's extensive oil and gas history. Spanning a gross floor area of over 300,000 square meters and situated 40 km from the coastline near Al Juraid Island and Berri Oil Field in the Arabian Gulf, THE RIG. promises a unique hospitality and adventure experience.

By 2032, THE RIG aims to attract over 900,000 annual visitors, catering to a diverse audience, including domestic, regional, and international travelers with interests ranging from adrenaline-pumping activities to leisure and relaxation.
Key features of THE RIG include three hotels with a total of 800 rooms, 11 restaurants, an extreme sports and adventure park, a world-class marina, and helipads. The destination will offer a plethora of water activities, such as a diving center, as well as an amusement park, splash park, E-sports center, immersive theatre, and multipurpose arena.
