Red Sea Global reveals in-house luxury brand Shebara
Red Sea Global (RSG) has unveiled plans to operate its
exclusive luxury hotel brand, Shebara, at The Red Sea destination. This
ambitious hospitality venture is set to open its doors in the summer of 2024
and marks the first resort to be owned and managed by RSG within The Red Sea
destination.
Located on the picturesque Sheybarah Island in the Al Wajh
Lagoon, the Shebara resort is in the final stages of construction and is
actively recruiting a world-class operational team in preparation for its grand
opening.

Shebara joins a prestigious lineup of international
hospitality brands already operating in The Red Sea, including St. Regis, Ritz
Carlton Reserve, and Six Senses, which recently began welcoming guests. This
exciting announcement follows last month's revelation that RSG is also
developing the Thuwal Private Retreat, an exclusive island destination wholly
owned and operated by RSG.
John Pagano, Group CEO of RSG, expressed his vision for the
project, saying, "It has long been our mission to extend our pioneering
approach to regenerative tourism across a wider portfolio of brands and
subsidiary companies, to create an ecosystem that will drive meaningful change
in the global tourism industry. Shebara is a beacon for all that RSG stands
for, showcasing the very best in Saudi hospitality while setting new standards
in responsible development and sustainable operations."

Shebara is situated on Sheybarah Island, featuring a
stunning 30-to-40m reef drop-off and offering 73 keys, including overwater and
beach villas. Guests can reach the resort by either a 45-minute boat ride from
the mainland or a quick 20-minute seaplane journey.
Designed by Killa Design, the resort's architecture
harmonizes with the natural surroundings, with the stainless steel villas
reflecting the ocean's colors and the ever-changing sky throughout the day.
Overwater orbs create a captivating effect, appearing as though they levitate
above the water, resembling a string of pearls.
Shaun Killa, Design Director and Founder of Killa Design,
elaborated on the project's design philosophy, stating, "Shebara is a
wonderful example of what is possible when creating beautiful yet meaningful
design. It demonstrates how innovative architecture can gracefully flow into
nature, with pods that reflect and refract light from the sun, the sky, and the
sea to naturally blend with the environment."

The development of Shebara is progressing swiftly, with all
38 stainless steel overwater villas already in place. Innovative installation
methods have reduced the time needed for villa placement. Notably, the first
villa took nine hours to install, while the last villa was positioned in under
two hours. Progress has also been significant on the beach villas, front and
back-of-house structures, and infrastructure.
Similar to The Red Sea as a whole, Shebara will rely on
solar energy day and night through its dedicated solar farm, featuring more
than 11,000 photovoltaic panels. RSG has constructed five solar farms to power
the first phase of The Red Sea destination, with over 760,000 PV panels
installed.
The Red Sea destination recently welcomed its first guests,
with two hotels open for bookings, and regular flights to the Red Sea
International Airport since September. Upon full completion in 2030, the
destination will encompass 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and
over 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites. The
development will also feature luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment,
F&B, and leisure facilities.
