Neom appoints Source Machinery for early works on Shusha
Island
Neom, the ambitious project in Saudi Arabia, has selected
local contractor Source Machinery to execute the initial groundwork on Shusha
Island. This contract is a part of the broader plan to develop infrastructure
across 12 islands within the Neom project.
Situated off the Red Sea coast of the kingdom, Shusha Island
is set to feature the world's largest coral garden, a marina, hotels, villas, a
beach club, a museum, and a research center.
Neom’s
Shushah Island to blend luxury with conservation
Earlier, Greek contractor Archirodon had been appointed by
Neom to handle the preliminary infrastructure development on Shusha Island.
In August, Neom organized a briefing session for contractors
to outline the development blueprint for Shusha Island, with participation from
local and international contractors.
The Shusha Island masterplan is being designed by Spanish
consultant Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, with project management
consultancy provided by US-based Aecom. The island's assets are categorized
into three packages: GC1, GC2, and GC3.
