Trailer unveiled for first Saudi film shot in NEOM
Front Row Filmed Entertainment, a distributor based in the
MENA region, in collaboration with Al Sarid Films, a Saudi-based production
company, has unveiled the trailer and artwork for "Within Sand," the
inaugural Saudi film shot in NEOM, the nation's groundbreaking mega city.
The film is scheduled to enjoy a wide release across Saudi
cinemas on November 9, 2023, courtesy of Front Row Arabia, a joint venture
between Front Row Filmed Entertainment and Saudi exhibitor Muvi Cinemas.

Sea film festival debuts first Saudi film shot in NEOM
"Within Sand," which is backed by the Saudi Film
Commission, NEOM, and Al Sarid Films, marks the directorial debut of Moe Alatawi
and is written by the same. The production is led by Reem Alatawi and Jana
Dahlawi. The film boasts an all-Saudi cast, with prominent actors including
Ra’ed Alshammari, Adwa Fahd, Muhand Alsaleh, Fatima Alsharif, and Obaid
Alwadaani.
The film's narrative revolves around Snam, a 23-year-old tobacco merchant who departs from his trading caravan to return quickly to his village, where his wife is on the brink of giving birth to their first child. However, his solo journey takes a perilous turn when he is ambushed by thieves who leave him for dead. Snam's quest for survival unfolds in the vast, desolate wilderness, compounded by the constant threat of a relentless wolf. Tormented by his memories, he grapples to retain his sanity in the solitude of the wilderness.

Notably, in pursuit of authenticity, the filmmaker went to
great lengths, having a real-life wolf on the set.
After its release in Saudi Arabia, the film is set to be
screened in select territories across the Middle East, marking a significant
milestone in Saudi cinema.
