Red Sea Global awarded license to operate Saudi Arabia's first
water aerodrome
In a significant development for the Saudi aviation sector,
Red Sea Global, a Saudi Arabian developer wholly owned by the Public Investment
Fund (PIF), has successfully secured a license to operate a water aerodrome on
Ummahat Island at
The Red Sea destination. This marks the first-ever license
granted for a water aerodrome within the Kingdom, emphasizing its importance to
the region.
Red Sea Global (RSG) is the multi-project developer
responsible for creating iconic tourism destinations in Saudi Arabia, namely
The Red Sea and Amaala. This license announcement closely follows the recent
launch of RSG's pioneering seaplane company, Fly Red Sea, which is also the
first of its kind in the Kingdom. The seaplane company is set to provide
transportation for guests heading to the Red Sea's exclusive island resorts.

John Pagano, the Group CEO at RSG, expressed the
significance of this milestone, saying, "Now, with this license, we are
ready to transport guests across crystal-clear waters to the Red Sea’s island
resorts."
Furthermore, RSG has obtained an air operator certificate
from the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) for its seaplane company,
along with a license to offer security operation services, reinforcing its
commitment to enhancing the tourism and aviation sectors in Saudi Arabia.
