Teal Lucid Air selected as official shuttle for Red Sea International Airport

The Red Sea International Airport (RSIA) in Saudi Arabia has chosen the striking Lucid Air as its official all-electric mode of transportation. This elegant EV will complement a seaplane service, ensuring visitors enjoy a luxurious and environmentally friendly travel experience.

Lucid currently offers customers six paint options: whit
e, black, silver, grey, red, and blue. The eye-catching teal color featured by RSIA is not part of Lucid's standard offerings, but its appeal is undeniable, suggesting that it could be a worthy addition to the automaker's portfolio.

Flydubai to start flights to Saudi futuristic city Neom

RSIA is not just another airport; it's a significant component of a broader initiative known as Red Sea Global. Situated approximately 56 miles from the small city of Al Wajh in Western Saudi Arabia, RSIA is located within the Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve, a vast protected area renowned for its natural beauty.

Red Sea Global represents Saudi Arabia's ambitious plan to boost its tourism sector and prepare for a post-oil future. The nation is currently restricting oil production to maintain higher prices, which has ripple effects globally, including increased gas prices in California. Red Sea Global is set to connect around 250 million people once fully operational, serving as a gateway to the Red Sea and Amaala resorts. These resorts are envisioned as "regenerative tourism destinations" that prioritize not only protecting but enhancing the natural environment for future generations.

Saudi Arabia's strategic focus on luxury accommodations in this region, where there is limited competition apart from Egypt, holds tremendous potential. The country aims to transform its West Coast, home to the world's fourth-largest barrier reef system, spanning over 17,400 square miles with numerous pristine islands, beaches, volcanoes, deserts, and canyons.

The Red Sea Resort is already open and welcoming guests, with plans for expansion, including 50 hotels and 1,000 residential properties by 2030. Amaala, on the other hand, is positioned as an upscale wellness retreat for discerning travelers.

As RSIA serves as the gateway to these remarkable destinations, visitors will have the opportunity to travel in style with the teal Lucid Air, contributing to a luxurious and eco-conscious experience. RSIA has also implemented an efficient luggage sorting system to ensure that travelers' belongings remain secure.

Saudi Arabia making successful forays in electric vehicle development

While it's unclear how many Lucid Air EVs will be available to visitors and whether all resort guests will have access to this posh sedan, it is known that RSIA's fleet will exclusively consist of Lucid vehicles. Furthermore, Lucid is set to inaugurate a new factory in Saudi Arabia, potentially reducing delivery times and enhancing accessibility to these elegant electric cars.
