Neom Airlines to commence operation by end of 2024: Klaus Goersch
NEOM Airlines, Saudi Arabia’s latest addition in its aviation sector, will commence operation by late 2024.
This
was declared by Klaus Goersch who is CEO of the upcoming airline in a blog
post.
The
airline that will be operational from $500 b futuristic city of Neom will serve
tourists, residents and commercial partners.
Goersch
said, “We aim at a holistic and interconnected approach, and NEOM Airlines will
increase the gross domestic product of NEOM.”
The
planes of NEOM Airlines will fly out of NEOM Bay Airport, which opened in 2019
and runs the old national carrier Saudia’s flights domestically and to London
and Dubai as well as flyDubai connecting the Neom with Dubai. The carrier will
eventually transfer to NEOM International Airport.
Goersch,
who was a former COO of British Airways and Air Canada, further said “Due to
the geo-strategic location and the level of economic activity in Neom, it is
expected to turn into a global aviation hub that will service the Middle East,
Europe, America, Asia and other regions.”
The
airline plans to grow in phases and will add new features with the passage
of time.
NEOM
Airlines’ is looking forward to power every flight by sustainable fuel onboard that
will be available from facilities at the port city. The carrier will also apply
the vision of sustainability in catering and other areas of its operation.
