Saudi Crown Prince unveils 'Soudah Peaks' masterplan to propel GDP by $7.73 billion

In a landmark announcement, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who serves as both the Prime Minister and Chairman of Soudah Development, has revealed the visionary masterplan for the transformation of Soudah and portions of Rijal Almaa into the opulent mountain tourism haven known as 'Soudah Peaks.' This exclusive mountain tourism destination graces Saudi Arabia's highest peak, situated 3,015 meters above sea level.

Pioneering a new age in tourism

Nestled amid an exceptional natural and cultural landscape within the Aseer region of southwest Saudi Arabia, this project forms a pivotal component of the Public Investment Fund (PIF)'s commitment to diversify the economy. The venture aims to bolster crucial sectors like tourism, hospitality, and entertainment while supporting the broader Aseer development strategy.

Soudah Peaks: A paradigm shift

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman of Soudah Development’s Board of Directors, heralded Soudah Peaks as a harbinger of a new era in luxurious mountain tourism. It not only promises an unparalleled living experience but also commits to the preservation of the natural environment and the region's cultural and heritage treasures. This initiative is strategically aligned with the Vision 2030 objectives, encompassing the expansion of tourism and entertainment, economic growth, investment attraction, and a substantial contribution of over SAR 29 billion to the Kingdom's cumulative GDP, besides creating numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The crown prince asserted, "The masterplan reaffirms our dedication to global environmental preservation, resource sustainability for future generations, and diversification of national income streams. It aims to forge a robust economy capable of drawing local and global investments."

He further added, "Soudah Peaks will be a significant addition to Saudi Arabia's tourism landscape, propelling the Kingdom onto the global tourism stage. It will celebrate our rich culture and heritage, inviting visitors to explore the wonders of Soudah Peaks while experiencing the warm hospitality of the local community. Amidst lush greenery above the clouds, Soudah Peaks will offer unforgettable experiences."

The grand vision of Soudah Peaks

Soudah Peaks aspires to offer high-end luxury hospitality services to over two million visitors annually by 2033. The masterplan is meticulously designed to showcase local traditional and architectural styles, highlighting the cultural and landscape heritage of the region. The destination will encompass six distinct development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. Each zone will boast a plethora of world-class amenities, including hotels, luxury mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment and commercial attractions, as well as outdoor facilities dedicated to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.

Soudah Development's ambitious targets

By 2033, Soudah Development plans to deliver 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space for Soudah Peaks. The masterplan is slated for execution in three phases, with the first phase expected to complete by 2027, encompassing 940 hotel keys, 391 residential units, and 32,000 square meters of retail space.

A commitment to sustainability

Soudah Peaks spans across more than 627 square kilometers of breathtaking natural beauty, with less than 1% of the land earmarked for development. This underscores Soudah Development's unwavering commitment to environmental protection and preservation, adhering to top-tier sustainability standards and contributing to the Saudi Green Initiative.

Soudah Development, as a closed joint-stock company under the ownership of PIF, envisions the creation of a distinctive luxury mountain tourism destination in Saudi Arabia while steadfastly preserving the natural environment and cultural heritage across Soudah and parts of Rijal Almaa.
