Saudi Arabia’s giga-city Neom witnesses a thriving community, schools opened
Saudi Arabia’s
giga-city Neom is witnessing a thriving community with schools opened in the
area.
This was disclosed by Nadhmi Al-Nasr, the CEO of NEOM, while announcing the significant progress made in the current phase of the project during the launch of a NEOM exhibition in Seoul. He said construction is actively underway across the entire project site.
Al-Nasr revealed that
approximately 60,000 people are currently residing
and working at the site to
contribute to the development of NEOM. He confidently stated that this number
will increase to a remarkable 400,000 within the next year. The NEOM project is
envisioned to span a 25-year period, and its significance is expected to grow
exponentially with time.
Al-Nasr emphasized
that NEOM presents a realistic and practical vision, and he believes that upon
completion of the first phase in 2030, the project will demonstrate its
viability to the world. He expressed optimism about securing financing for the
project through its successful implementation.
The CEO also stressed
that South Korean companies will have ample opportunities to participate in
various stages of investment, financing, and partnership formation within the
NEOM project. Given the considerable funding requirements of the venture,
companies worldwide, including those from South Korea, are eagerly seeking
opportunities to collaborate and secure deals.
Al-Nasr, along with 12
other senior executives of NEOM, is currently in South Korea to inaugurate the
NEOM city exhibition. This marks the first time a NEOM exhibition is being held
in Asia.
The nine-day event,
titled "Discover NEOM: A New Future by Design," is set to continue
until August 3rd. The exhibition showcases models and videos that exemplify the
design philosophy and urban planning of major projects within NEOM City, such
as The Line, Oksagon, Trogena, and Syndala. This display aims to provide a
glimpse into the groundbreaking initiatives shaping NEOM's innovative future.
