Oracle's cloud region in Saudi Arabia’s Neom to boost it as a tech hub
The
US tech giant Oracle's cloud region in Saudi Arabia’s Neom will be functional
soon.
This was disclosed by Jae Evans, the chief information officer of Oracle in a talk with The National.
The tech infrastructure will play a significant role in further boosting the status of the Middle East as a technology hub and support its economic growth.
Jae Evans said the Neom cloud region, originally announced in October 2021, is part of Oracle’s expanding footprint in the region to promote the role of cloud in spurring economic growth.
She said
the cloud accelerates the process of growth and innovation in all industries,
reducing the barriers to entry of foreign investment.
Jae
Evans mentioned the recent $1.5 billion commitment Oracle made to the oik
rich kingdom during the Leap technology conference in Riyadh in February.
The
adoption of cloud technology is growing in the Middle East amid the rise of technology-focused
young consumers and an evolving digital landscape.
