Qatar’s Estithmar Holding granted SAR 829 million contract for Qiddiya Stadium

 

Qatari firm to carry out MEP works at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya  

Qatar-based Estithmar Holding has secured an SAR 829 million ($221 million) contract through its subsidiary Elegancia to carry out mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya.

Estithmar Holding, listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange, said Elegancia, which operates within the group’s contracting and specialized industries segment, will undertake key mechanical works for the landmark stadium project.

Under the contract, Elegancia will be responsible for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), public health systems, fire protection and building management systems (BMS).

The project is scheduled to run from September 2026 through May 2030. Approximately 3,000 Elegancia employees are expected to be involved at different stages of construction and implementation.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium is among the venues planned to host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2034 in Saudi Arabia. The multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue is being developed in Qiddiya, approximately 40 minutes from Riyadh, on top of a 200-meter-high Tuwaiq escarpment.

The stadium is planned to feature 47,000 seats, with its overall capacity expected to exceed 60,900 people. Once operational, it is projected to attract around 7.6 million visitors annually and host more than 60 football matches each year.

The contract further expands the participation of regional construction and engineering companies in Qiddiya, one of Saudi Arabia’s major giga-projects aimed at establishing the Kingdom as a global destination for sports, entertainment and tourism.
