Industry veteran Eugenie Jason to oversee daily operations at Shebara Island resort

Shebara, the Red Sea’s award-winning island resort featuring 73 overwater and beachfront villas, has appointed seasoned hotelier Eugenie Jason as its new General Manager.

Jason will oversee daily operations, shape the resort’s strategic direction and supervise its five signature dining venues, with a strong focus on guest experience, team culture and operational excellence.

With more than two decades of global hospitality experience, including 14 years with Four Seasons, Marriott International and Belmond, she previously served as GM of Belmond’s Les Bateaux in France. Her career also includes leadership roles in the US, Canada and French Polynesia, notably as GM of the MUIR Hotel in Nova Scotia and management positions at Four Seasons properties in Quebec, Beverly Hills and Bora Bora.

A graduate with a European master’s in hospitality management from Vatel, Jason is recognised for a leadership style that combines commercial expertise with a strong people-centric approach. At Shebara, she will focus on building high-performing teams and nurturing Saudi talent.

Her appointment comes after a standout year for Shebara, which opened in November 2024 as Red Sea Global’s first fully owned and operated resort. Designed by Shaun Killa — the architect behind Dubai’s Museum of the Future — the property has earned two Michelin Keys and a series of design awards. Its futuristic stainless-steel villas, resembling a string of pearls over the water, have been featured in Time Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places of 2025 and the Prix Versailles 2025 World’s Most Beautiful list. The resort operates entirely on renewable solar energy and has its own water desalination and treatment facilities.
