New market opens in Diriyah attracting tourists

As part of Diriyah Season 25/26, the much-anticipated “Souq Al-Mawsim” (Season Market) opened on Sunday in the Al-Tawalie district, one of Diriyah’s most significant historical and natural landmarks. The event immerses visitors in the lively atmosphere of traditional markets, complete with the sounds, colours, and energy of local vendors and shoppers.

This year’s edition carries special significance, celebrating Japan and the rich cultural heritage of Kyoto, in honour of 70 years of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan.

The market’s design blends Saudi and Japanese aesthetics, creating a distinctive identity that merges artistic details, architecture, and traditions from both cultures. Visitors can enjoy a multi-sensory experience that deepens appreciation for the shared creativity and heritage of the two nations.
