Saudi Arabia: Alliance Aviation sets up modern hangar and FBO facility at AlUla

Alliance Aviation has inaugurated a state-of-the-art hangar and Fixed Base Operation (FBO) facility at AlUla International Airport, marking a major milestone as Saudi Arabia’s first purpose-built general aviation hangar. The announcement was made during the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, held under the theme “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth.”

Developed in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), the facility underscores a shared vision to transform AlUla into a premier cultural and aviation hub, in alignment with Vision 2030 and Masterplan 2.

“This launch marks a significant step forward for both Alliance and Saudi Arabia’s private aviation sector,” said Brendan McQuaid, Founder of Alliance Aviation. “We’re proud to partner with the Royal Commission for AlUla in creating a facility that embodies the region’s heritage and hospitality while advancing the Kingdom’s goal of developing world-class aviation infrastructure. AlUla is emerging as a hub that seamlessly connects culture, commerce, and connectivity.”

Setting a new standard for business aviation

The 2,850-square-meter hangar can accommodate two Gulfstream G650s and one Challenger 650, or a combination of two large-cabin aircraft and two light jets. It offers secure, climate-controlled hangarage, along with dedicated crew facilities and VIP passenger services.

Amenities include a private lounge, crew rest areas, ground handling and line maintenance services, high-speed connectivity, and 24/7 access and security, ensuring seamless service for both passengers and operators.

Driving AlUla’s sustainable tourism and investment goals

Alliance Aviation will operate and manage the facility, providing hangarage, ground handling, and aircraft management services to private and business jet operators. The partnership supports AlUla’s long-term strategy to position itself as a model for sustainable tourism and innovation, targeting two million annual visitors and a SAR 150 billion contribution to Saudi GDP by 2035.
