Diriyah Art Futures to feature works from Saudi and regional artists in new exhibition

Diriyah Art Futures (DAF), the region’s first center dedicated to new media arts, will launch its debut exhibition CONTINUUM ’25 on September 13 in Riyadh, featuring works from 11 emerging artists from Saudi Arabia and across the globe. The showcase will run until November 15.

The exhibition marks the inaugural edition of an annual series that will spotlight experimental practices in digital, immersive, and AI-driven art. It highlights the creative results of DAF’s Emerging New Media Artists Programme, a year-long residency offering mentorship and advanced technological resources to young talents.

Participating artists include Turki AlQahtani and Khaled Makshoush (Saudi Arabia); Salma Aly (Egypt); Samia Dzaïr (Algeria); Aya Abu Ghazaleh (Jordan); Dhia Dhibi (Tunisia); William Brooks (Wales); Junsoo Kim (Korea); Youssef El Idrissi (Morocco); Kyle Donald Marais (South Africa); and Mohamed Al Mubarak (Bahrain).

Guided by international mentors Anna Ridler and Karen Palmer, the artists developed works exploring themes of identity, memory, climate, technology, and displacement. The exhibition spans virtual reality, AI-generated art, immersive installations, sound design, and screen-based narratives.

The title CONTINUUM reflects the fluid relationship between human and machine, organic and artificial, and real and simulated worlds. Curatorial design reinforces these contrasts, inviting visitors into a sensory experience that reimagines how technology shapes culture, ecology, and memory.
