Benrahma signs €15m deal with Saudi Arabia’s Neom SC
Algerian international Saïd Benrahma has signed a permanent deal with newly promoted Saudi Pro League side Neom SC, following a
standout six-month loan spell that helped the club secure top-flight promotion.
Benrahma, 29, joined Neom in January on loan
from Ligue 1’s Olympique Lyonnais and quickly became a crucial figure,
recording seven goals and eight assists in just 15 matches in Saudi Arabia’s
second tier. His performances played a major role in Neom’s successful
campaign, prompting the club to activate a permanent transfer reportedly worth
€15 million.
Prior to Lyon, Benrahma had featured for Premier
League side West Ham United. His move to Neom comes amid financial turmoil at
Lyon, who were recently relegated to Ligue 2 by French football’s financial
watchdog, the DNCG. The club is currently appealing the decision.

Alongside Benrahma, Neom have also secured the
services of French forward and former Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette, further
signaling their intent to compete at the highest level. The club has also added
Ivory Coast U-23 midfielder Amadou Koné to its growing roster of high-profile
signings.
Benrahma
is expected to play a central role in Neom SC’s debut Saudi Pro League campaign
as the ambitious Tabuk-based club looks to make its mark.
