Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah and Amazon sign MoU to bolster cooperation

Amazan Alexa to enhance visitor experiences of Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah  

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and Amazon have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster cooperation in cultural and technological domains. This partnership seeks to enhance visitor experiences at Diriyah’s historical landmarks and enrich cultural and historical content via Amazon Alexa.

The agreement was formalized by DGDA’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Jerry Inzerillo, and Amazon Saudi Arabia Country Manager, Abdo Chlala.

Commenting on the collaboration, Jerry Inzerillo stated, “We are pleased to have signed this MoU with Amazon, opening a wide range of technological opportunities for us to explore. This day represents the beginning of an ongoing collaboration that will help make Diriyah a global destination for culture and heritage. By connecting the past to the future with modern technologies, we aim to highlight Diriyah’s rich heritage and the authentic culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

Eric King, Managing Director of Alexa International for EMEA & APAC at Amazon, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited to team up with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority to celebrate the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration will showcase the Kingdom’s rich traditions and history through our innovative technology, enhancing customer experiences and delighting audiences.”

Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the partnership aims to support the Kingdom’s tourism, cultural, and historical sectors. By leveraging Amazon’s advanced technology platforms, comprehensive information about Diriyah’s heritage will reach a broader audience.

The initiative also includes the development of interactive applications to deepen visitors' engagement with Diriyah’s historical sites and significance. Additionally, it promotes local content creation by featuring regional products on Amazon.sa, enabling sellers to reach new markets while showcasing the cultural identity of the Diriyah community.

This collaboration underscores DGDA’s commitment to preserving Saudi Arabia’s heritage while integrating modern innovations to position Diriyah as a premier cultural and historical destination.
