Saudi Arabia displays over 500 virtual assistants to set Guinness World Record

Saudi Arabia sets Guinness World Record with display of virtual assistants 

On Saudi Arabia's 94th National Day, Diriyah made history by setting a Guinness World Record for the largest virtual assistant display. More than 500 Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa, harmonized the Saudi national anthem and other patriotic songs at Bujairi Terrace.

This impressive event was part of Diriyah’s celebrations, showcasing a blend of the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage and modern technology.

Guinness World Records officials were present to witness the achievement, with Kanzy El-Defrawy, a senior adjudicator, congratulating Diriyah on its successful world record attempt. Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), remarked that the event exemplified Saudi Arabia’s innovative spirit while honoring the nation’s cultural legacy. Amazon’s regional manager, Raf Fatani, highlighted the collaboration as a celebration of both artificial intelligence and Saudi culture.

In addition to the high-tech display, the National Day celebrations in Diriyah were filled with traditional activities. Visitors enjoyed cultural exhibitions, including the traditional Saudi ardah sword dance at Salwa Palace, displays of historical artifacts at Diriyah Museum, and the desert-rooted samri dance at Prince Thunayan Palace. International guests were impressed by the fusion of the old and the new, with South African visitor Karien commenting on the relaxed, inviting atmosphere and the significant progress made by the Kingdom.

As the day came to an end, the Saudi National Day in Diriyah was a perfect tribute to the nation’s past, present, and future. From airshows to poetry readings, and a projection of historical battles at Salwa Palace, the celebration marked 94 years of national pride while embracing the future with innovation.
