Saudi Arabia: Georgia Taylor-Brown, Hayden Wilde win titles in 2024 Supertri League
In a thrilling finale, Georgia
Taylor-Brown and Hayden Wilde claimed the 2024 Supertri League individual and
team titles for Crown Racing, cementing their position at the top of the
series.
Though neither Taylor-Brown nor
Wilde took first in the Grand Finale, their strong performances across the
five-event series earned them the overall women’s and men’s titles, along with
the team title, narrowly defeating Podium Racing.
The women’s race ended in dramatic
fashion as Taylor-Brown secured her third Supertri League title—a
record-breaking feat. The British triathlete placed fourth by just two seconds,
holding off Podium Racing’s Jeanne Lehair for the championship. Crown Racing
teammate Cassandre Beaugrand, an Olympic and ITU World Champion, claimed her
first Supertri win of the season, followed by Lehair and Léonie Périault of
Podium Racing in second and third.
Reflecting on her close finish,
Taylor-Brown said, “I really did it the hard way today. I thought I needed
third, but Non [Stanford] told me fourth was enough. When Léonie passed me into
third, I had nothing left. It wasn’t my best day, but I got the title—that’s
all I came for.”

Arabia: Supertri Grand Final to be held in Neom on November 3
In the men’s race, Hayden Wilde
faced a series of challenges, including running part of the course with his
bike helmet still on. His fierce rival, Olympic gold medalist Alex Yee, edged
him out at the finish by a single second in a climactic end to their
season-long competition. Wilde’s second-place finish was enough to clinch his
individual title and secure the 2024 team championship for Crown Racing.
“It was nerve-wracking,” Wilde
admitted. “Léo [Bergere] and Tim Hellwig were serious contenders. Congrats to
Vincent [Luis] on a remarkable career as well.”
Yee’s perfectly timed sprint in the
last 400 meters overtook both Wilde and Bergere, making for a memorable win.
“It’s what people want, and I’m glad we put on a show,” Yee said. “I came here
with no expectations, just wanting to make people smile. It feels great to be
back, enjoying the sport’s simplicity.”
