Saudi Arabia’s Six Flags Qiddiya 59% complete
Six Flags Qiddiya is drawing global attention this year as
construction on the world's first Exa roller coaster, Falcon's Flight,
continues at a remarkable pace. According to the official website, Six Flags
Qiddiya is now 59% complete.
A recent video posted to YouTube by Coasters, Thrills, and
Airtime Hills showcases the latest developments, including the impressive 524ft
airtime hill on Falcon's Flight, the tallest free-standing structure on the
coaster. The video reveals ongoing construction on the mountainside, along with
progress on the tilt roller coaster, SNS drop tower, and wooden roller coaster.

In another video from Depressed Ginger, filmed in April
2024, Falcon's Flight's towering structure is highlighted. This coaster is set
to solidify Six Flags Qiddiya's reputation as a premier destination. The park is
expected to feature eight roller coasters, including Falcon's Flight, Colossus,
Iron Rattler, Sea Stallion, Spitfire, Twilight Express, Adrena-Line, and Saw
Mill Falls.
Set to open in late 2024, Six Flags Qiddiya's timeline
appears optimistic, but progress updates will continue. Previous construction
updates from March revealed significant advancements in both Falcon's Flight
and Qiddiya City.
Falcon's Flight will be the tallest roller coaster in the
world, standing at 640ft, surpassing the initially rumored 540ft. This Exa
coaster designation is given to coasters over 600ft, a height never before
achieved. Currently, the tallest coaster is Kingda Ka at 456ft, but Falcon's
Flight will exceed this by 56m.
With a top speed of 250km/h (155mph), Falcon's Flight will
also be the fastest roller coaster, taking the record from Formula Rossa. It
will be the longest, with a track length of 4250m, surpassing The Steel Dragon
2000's 2479m.

The coaster will feature three LSM launches, a breathtaking
drop off a cliff, and a stunning 640ft airtime hill. Its trains, designed like
a falcon, will include Intamin lap bars, windshields to protect riders from
desert sand, and programmable light modules for night rides.
The anticipation for Falcon's Flight and Six Flags Qiddiya continues
to grow. Stay tuned for more updates as construction progresses towards the
slated late 2024 opening.
