IBM President appreciates Saudi Arabia's strides in

IBM's Chairman and CEO, Arvind Krishna, emphasized Saudi
Arabia's swift emergence as a prominent global player in artificial
intelligence (AI).
In an exclusive interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, Krishna
underscored his company's commitment to the kingdom's vision, noting plans to
invest over $200 million in talent and infrastructure. This investment includes
establishing a new software center in Riyadh, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030's
goal to position the nation as a leading global technology hub.
Krishna highlighted the strategic significance of AI,
projecting its economic impact in the Middle East to reach $320 billion by
2030. He emphasized Saudi Arabia's potential gains, estimated at $135.2
billion, representing over 42% of the economy related to new technology.

Emphasizing the regional implications, Krishna noted Saudi
Arabia's rapid ascent in AI, with the new IBM center serving as a significant
milestone in this trajectory.

Saudi IT professionals. By focusing on digital innovation and product
development, it will contribute to the creation of globally competitive
solutions, enriching the Kingdom's technological landscape.
IBM's ongoing projects in Saudi Arabia include
collaborations with Riyadh Air and Salam Telecom. Krishna highlighted their
partnership with Riyadh Air, aimed at revolutionizing travel experiences and
supporting the company's inaugural flight in 2025 with advanced solutions.

Krishna introduced Watsonx, IBM's latest data and AI
platform, designed to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and automate

Recognizing the evolving nature of technology, Krishna
stressed the importance of continuous learning, revealing IBM's commitment to
upskilling up to 100,000 Saudis in the digital sector through partnerships with
educational and governmental entities.
Krishna expressed confidence in IBM's substantial investment
