Trade to play a key role in promoting Red Sea Global development: Tracy Lanza

In the competitive world of global tourism, trade plays a crucial role in promoting destinations. Red Sea Global, a vast development spanning nearly 11,000 square miles with over 90 islands, is no exception. Tracy Lanza, the group head of brand development, highlights the significance of trade in the success of Red Sea Global.

The ambitious Red Sea Global project is already welcoming its first guests, with the recent openings of Six Senses and St Regis. While St Regis is currently undergoing a soft launch, it is set to open fully by the end of December. In addition, familiarization (Fam) trips are scheduled for early next year, offering a unique opportunity for trade engagement.

According to Tracy Lanza, trade plays a pivotal role in educating people about Red Sea Global and effectively marketing this destination. She emphasizes that, especially for destinations less known to the public, trade professionals can assist travelers by addressing their questions and providing guidance on where to stay and customs-related matters.

Red Sea Global aims to achieve between 40-50% of its sales through trade channels, including its Destination Management Company (DMC), Visit Red Sea. Lanza further elaborates that Red Sea Global has been actively promoting the project over the past 18 months through a continuous roadshow, generating considerable enthusiasm and optimism ahead of its full launch.

As of now, there are 75 rooms available following the launch of Six Senses and St Regis. An additional 90 rooms are set to be added by the end of the year. Looking ahead, Red Sea Global plans to increase its room capacity to approximately 300 rooms by the end of the first quarter of the next year, and according to Lanza, filling them won't be a challenge.

By 2030, the Red Sea will boast an impressive array of offerings, including 50 hotels, 8,000 rooms, more than 1,000 residential properties, and its international airport. As it strives to become a prominent global destination, Red Sea Global's focus on trade and collaboration with trade professionals is a key element in its success.
