NEOM unveils vision for Trojena: A revolutionary all-season ski
resort in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has revealed ambitious plans for Trojena, an extraordinary mountain destination within the innovative Neom project set to become a sustainable ski resort like no other.
Situated 50 kilometers inland from the Gulf of Aqaba coast,
Trojena will sprawl over an expansive 60 square kilometers, encompassing
elevations ranging from 1,500 meters to 2,600 meters. It will feature six
distinct clusters that seamlessly blend real-world and virtual architectural
and engineering innovations.
NEOM's
Trojena snow resort: A pinnacle of sustainable skiing in Saudi Arabia
Despite its surreal nature, the region experiences sub-zero
winter temperatures alongside a year-round moderate climate, making it an ideal
location for winter sports. Trojena aspires to be an engineering marvel,
setting a global benchmark for eco-friendliness among ski resorts. It will
achieve this through the utilization of renewable energy sources, minimal water
consumption, and maximum water recovery, enabling the production of
carbon-neutral snow without the use of chemical additives.
Trojena will house an all-year Ski Village offering a wide
array of amenities, including hotels, outdoor activities, dining options, and
entertainment facilities. This ensures that visitors can partake in winter
sports during the colder months and enjoy various activities during the warmer
seasons.

The destination will feature a man-made freshwater lake,
catering to water sports enthusiasts, as well as offering more than 100 indoor
and outdoor activities for adventure seekers. These activities range from
hiking, kayaking, and water sports to skiing, zip-lining, alpine coaster rides,
mountain biking, skateboarding, bicycling, climbing, snow sports, and ice
skating.
In addition, Trojena will serve as a venue for concerts,
festivals, exhibitions, and other cultural events, boasting a 3,000-seat
mountainside amphitheater. Among its standout features is "The
Vault," a vertical village carved into the mountainside, housing retail
outlets, dining establishments, and a vibrant nightlife scene.

offering panoramic views of the stunning surroundings.
One of the primary objectives of Trojena is to make
activities like skiing accessible to Saudi residents and people from the wider
region, further promoting sports and tourism in the area.
