Red Sea Global partners with Bear Grylls to bring adventure
to Saudi Arabia
Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind regenerative tourism
destinations like The Red Sea and Amaala, has announced an exclusive
partnership with Bear Grylls Survival Academy (BGSA) to introduce the renowned
survival and adventure brand to Saudi Arabia.
This collaboration will provide outdoor enthusiasts with the opportunity
to acquire essential team-building, wilderness education, and survival skills
through a range of courses personally designed by Bear Grylls himself.
Additionally, it opens doors to potential collaborations in areas such as
physical and mental well-being programs, in alignment with RSG's adventure sports
brand, Akun. This initiative reflects RSG's commitment to offering inclusive
and accessible experiences for guests and visitors, including those with
disabilities and special needs.
John Pagano, the Group CEO of Red Sea Global, emphasized the transformative
power of nature in shaping individuals, instilling qualities such as strength,
resilience, self-belief, and teamwork. He expressed a shared vision with BGSA
to create outdoor experiences that cater to people of all ages, regardless of
their physical or cognitive abilities.
RSG is dedicated to recruiting and training local outdoor enthusiasts in
the art of survival and expedition leadership, thus generating employment
opportunities for Saudis in a burgeoning industry. These local adventurers may
eventually work in Bear Grylls Survival Academies across Saudi Arabia, leading
courses and inspiring a new generation of survivalists and adventure-seekers.
Bear Grylls, a former soldier in the British Special Forces and renowned
for his survival television shows, including "Running Wild" with
high-profile figures like India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hollywood
actors like Kate Winslet, Florence Pugh, Channing Tatum, and Zac Efron, brings
a wealth of experience and inspiration to this partnership. He is also the UK
Chief Scout and the first-ever Chief Ambassador to the World Scout
Organisation, representing a global family of over fifty million Scouts.
Paul Gardiner, Managing Director of BGSA, expressed excitement about the
diverse natural landscapes of Saudi Arabia's Red Sea, from mountains to wadi
valleys, sand dunes, canyons, and coastlines. The collaboration aims to create
signature challenges and assets that allow individuals to test and surpass
their limits, all while emphasizing inclusivity and the principle of
"Never Give Up."
The Red Sea project in Saudi Arabia is rapidly approaching its inaugural
guest arrivals, with the opening of the international airport and the first
hotels, starting with Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea, scheduled for this
year. Amaala, another remarkable development, is set to welcome guests in early
2025.
After six years of anticipation since its unveiling, the Red Sea project
is poised to introduce 50 luxury resorts across a pristine archipelago of over
90 islands, accompanied by the world's fourth-largest barrier reef system. The
first two resorts, including Six Senses Southern Dunes, will soon open their
doors, marking a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia's ambitious eco-tourism
venture. The resorts offer a blend of wellness, luxury, and Bedouin-inspired
traditions in a captivating coastal setting.
