Marriot International to establish two properties in Neom’s Trojena
Marriott International has entered into a partnership with NEOM to unveil
two new upscale establishments in Trojena, situated in the northwest region of
Saudi Arabia. This exciting development includes Saudi Arabia's inaugural W
Hotel and a JW Marriott hotel, set to be pivotal components of NEOM's future.
Trojena, presently under construction, is poised to become NEOM's
mountain retreat, where the 2029 Asian Winter Games will take place. Expressing
enthusiasm for this venture, Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President of Lodging
Development for the Middle East at Marriott International, stated, "We are
thrilled to collaborate with NEOM in crafting these two exceptional properties
within one of the world's most eagerly anticipated developments."
The W Hotel in Trojena will comprise 236 guest rooms, featuring 47
suites, with breathtaking views of the mountains and a serene freshwater lake.
This property will encompass distinctive brand spaces, such as a Living Room,
WET Deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness center. Furthermore, the W hotel
will house four dining venues and retail spaces, nestled within the Lake
Village region. Lake Village, known for its 2.8km lake, will also offer an
array of retail and dining options, fresh food and shopping markets, as well as
entertainment zones.
Meanwhile, the new JW Marriott Hotel in Trojena will be nestled in The
Bow, a futuristic aquatic world harmoniously blending nature and technology.
Submerged within the lake and surrounded by mountains, the infrastructure will
be engineered to withstand the water's weight and pressure, with adaptable
spaces designed for year-round use, including a grand atrium capable of hosting
large-scale events. The JW Marriott property will boast 500 rooms and suites,
along with extensive entertainment and recreational amenities such as a
ballroom, meeting facilities, five dining venues, a fitness club, a children's
club, swimming pools, and a spa.
Philip Gullett, Executive Director of Trojena, commented, "With its
central location, high elevation mountain landscape up to 2,600m, and natural
surroundings, Trojena redefines the understanding of ultra-luxury hospitality
and mountain tourism." He added, "We are delighted to have two of
Marriott International’s iconic brands at the forefront of luxury travel, W
Hotels and JW Marriott, join us to elevate the travel experience for discerning
guests."
Chris Newman, Executive Director of NEOM Hotel Development, emphasized
the pivotal role of JW Marriott in positioning Trojena as a premier venue for
global conferences, exhibitions, and high-profile events. Meanwhile, W Hotels
is set to revolutionize the entertainment, culture, and culinary experiences
for visitors to this mountain destination. Marriott International aligns with
NEOM's vision of forging a new frontier for the hospitality industry.
Other esteemed hospitality brands, including Anantara, The Chedi, and
Collective Retreats, have also committed to Trojena. Minor Hotels confirmed the
opening of an Anantara-branded property with 270 keys, offering guest rooms and
suites, some with private pools, each boasting captivating lake or mountain
views. General Hotel Management (GHM) inked an agreement with Neom Hotel
Development to oversee an upcoming property, The Chedi Trojena, located within
the Slope Residences in Trojena's Relax Cluster, focusing on rejuvenation and
wellness programs. Additionally, Collective Retreats is scheduled to launch its
Trojena property in 2026, featuring approximately 60 open-air guest rooms,
innovative meeting spaces, water features, communal campfires, and culinary
experiences.
