ACWA Power signs
agreements with Chinese companies in renewable energies
ACWA Power, a
Saudi-listed energy company, has entered into significant Memorandums of
Understanding (MoUs) with two Chinese firms to foster collaboration in various areas,
including green hydrogen, ammonia, global renewable energies, and integrated
smart energies. These agreements were signed with China Southern Power Grid
International Company, a state-owned entity, and MingYang Smart Energy Group, a
clean energy integrated solution provider, during the China (Guangdong) – Saudi
Arabia Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference held in Riyadh on September
11.

Mohammad Abunayyan,
Chairman of ACWA Power, delivered a keynote speech at the conference,
expressing his excitement about the growing economic cooperation between Saudi
Arabia and China. He emphasized ACWA Power's commitment to contributing to the
energy transition outlined in Vision 2030 and the importance of partnering with
Chinese companies, which have played a significant role in the development of
renewable energy in Saudi Arabia.
Construction
of Green-Hydrogen Plant in Neom to complete in 2026
ACWA Power has a
history of successful partnerships with Chinese firms, including collaborations
on projects such as installing Central Asia's largest wind turbine with China
Energy Engineering Corporation and the EPC contract for the Rabigh 4
desalination project with a consortium of Power China, SEPCOIII, and WETICO.
Additionally, ACWA Power has signed agreements with nine prominent Chinese
entities during the 1st China Arab Summit, reinforcing its commitment to
fostering innovation in local renewable energy and storage development with
Huawei Digital Power.
