Neom Media Village grants access to second soundstage due to rising demand

Neom Media Village in the Saudi giga-city has opened doors to its second soundstage to meet the rising demand of production companies.

This has brought the number of operational stages in the Neom region to four (two are in Neom’s Bajdah Desert Studios).

The new stage within the Media Village has the sam
e 2,400 square meters capacity like the first one and boasts modern art technology and back-of-house facilities including make-up rooms, green rooms and production offices.

According to Neom, the second soundstage  will meet the growing demand for facilities in the Middle East and North Africa and is quickly booked out for a long-running drama series, which begins production early March.

Work on six more stages is underway and they are set to open by mid-2023. Producers can benefit Saudi Arabia’s 40% cash rebate production incentive scheme for feature films, TV dramas, reality series and docs. Some upcoming high profile projects in the Neom media city are Anthony Mackie-starrer Desert Warrior and fantasy adventure series Rise of the Witches.

Wayne Borg, Managing Director Media Industries, Entertainment and Culture at Neom says the media city has 30 major productions to date.

The stages being commissioned are the initial steps of development toward Neom’s state media hub, which will be an integrated, creative campus of over 1 million square meters situated on The Line. It will encompass 37 stages and studios, tenancy space, vocational learning facilities and industry incubation and start up space.
