Saudi Arabia’s Neom to train 600 Saudi students for 8-weeks
Neom, the futuristic city of Saudi Arabia, has launched a program to
train 600 Saudi students in various advanced skills.
The project under the Corporate Social Responsibility
department of the $500 billion city has been organized in partnership with
KEYSS (Knowledge Exchange for Youth Supporting Society) Project and in
cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the National Program for Community
Development (Tanmiah), and non-governmental organizations.
The eight-week program will assist young students in their
college education. It will train 600 students from high school and freshman
students from the University of Tabuk in NEOM and Tabuk areas.
Empowering a new generation to take on challenges
In a statement, Saudi NEOM said: “With the support of 50
teachers and advisors, the students in the program will be guided to the most
relevant and sought-after majors that align with the future job market and
encouraged to explore their personal strengths through interactive meetings
that foster self-learning. As part of the initiative, a guidebook on tactical
decision-making on the professional, academic and personal levels will be
distributed to participants.”
NEOM has so far taken various educational initiatives,
including a scholarship programme with 379 recipients to date, English language
programmes, and other career-building opportunities.
