Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya city being developed as a fully integrated city

Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Dawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, said the Qiddiya project is pursuing a diversified funding strategy that includes the Public Investment Fund (PIF) as the strategic investor, alongside private sector and international investors. He noted that additional financing announcements are expected in the near future.

Speaking during a government press conference, Al-Dawood explained that the current phase of development is focused on building core infrastructure, laying the groundwork for positioning Qiddiya as a global hub for entertainment, sports, and culture.

He added that Qiddiya is being developed as a fully integrated city across all developmental and economic dimensions, and is expected to contribute more than SAR 35 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP and generate over 300,000 jobs once all planned assets are completed.

Al-Dawood emphasized that Qiddiya is a central pillar of Saudi Vision 2030, stating: “We are implementing the vision of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to establish Qiddiya as the capital of entertainment, sports, and culture. The project has received continuous support and attention from the Crown Prince since its inception.”

He announced that Six Flags Qiddiya will officially open on December 31, marking the launch of what he described as a new global destination for entertainment, sports, and culture. The opening of Six Flags will be the first in a series of successive launches for 70 attractions across the city, making it the largest of its kind in the Middle East.

Al-Dawood confirmed that Six Flags Qiddiya will feature five record-breaking rides, noting that the Falcon Flight roller coaster alone has set three world records.

He also revealed that Aquaria has reached 95% completion and is in its final development stages, while construction is progressing rapidly on seven major attractions.
