Second edition of Red Sea Sailing Race held with participation of over 95 sailors
The second edition of the Red Sea Sailing Race wrapped up at
Turtle Bay, part of The Red Sea destination, with a two-day celebration of
traditional sailing and local culture. This year’s event brought together
competitors, partners, and community members to celebrate both the sport and
the deep cultural connection the region has with the sea. The theme, “Hoist the
Sail”, paid tribute to the sail’s enduring role as a symbol of resilience and
un
ity in the region.

Darwish, Chief Administrative Officer and Official Spokesperson for Red Sea Global (RSG), expressed his
pride in the event’s success. “We are thrilled to close this incredible edition
of the race, which has become an annual tradition where we honor the timeless
bond between the people of this region and the sea,” he said.

The main race featured 14 traditional boats, with an
additional five competing in the youth category, showcasing the skills of 95
sailors. The event drew significant attention, both from media and a growing
audience, emphasizing the event’s status as a prominent marine sports
competition at The Red Sea destination.

combined with the impressive community engagement, reinforces The Red Sea
destination’s emerging status as a global hub for marine sports.” This aligns
with Saudi Arabia’s broader ambitions to boost its international tourism and
