Rokwall Automation to set up manufacturing zone in Riyadh
Rockwell Automation,
the world’s largest company focused on industrial automation and digital
transformation, has announced a strategic collaboration with alfanar to
establish a dedicated manufacturing zone within alfanar’s Industrial City facility in
Riyadh. The partnership represents a significant step toward strengthening
Saudi Arabia’s industrial capabilities and supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
The new zone will assemble advanced
automation panels using Rockwell Automation’s latest intelligent devices,
software, and control technologies. These locally produced systems will
initially be supplied to critical infrastructure and utility projects,
beginning with the Saudi Water Authority (SWA).
“This collaboration between alfanar,
Rockwell Automation, and the Saudi Water
Authority marks a major milestone in advancing Saudi Arabia’s localisation
agenda,” said Ahmad Haydar, Country Leader for Saudi Arabia at Rockwell
Automation. “By enabling local assembly of advanced automation technologies, we
are strengthening the Kingdom’s water sector with solutions made in Saudi
Arabia, for Saudi Arabia.”

The agreement was formalised during
a signing ceremony at Automation Fair, Rockwell Automation’s global event
recently held in Chicago.
Eng. Sharekh Ibrahim AlSharekh, Vice
President for Technical Affairs and Projects at SWA, described the initiative
as a key driver of Saudi Vision 2030:
“This initiative enhances local content in the water sector and supports
economic diversification. It strengthens national capabilities, boosts
investment competitiveness, and advances the standardisation of technical
requirements across operational assets.”
He added that the programme
reinforces cross-border and domestic partnerships while enhancing the security
and long-term resilience of the Kingdom’s water infrastructure.
The collaboration leverages
alfanar’s established local manufacturing expertise alongside Rockwell
Automation’s advanced industrial solutions. The manufacturing zone will also
include demonstration walls displaying Rockwell technologies, supporting
alfanar’s strategy to position automation as a core enabler of its solutions
portfolio.
