Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah plans to preserve historic sites in war-torn Syria
Diriyah,
one of Saudi Arabia’s flagship giga projects, could expand its heritage
development expertise beyond the Kingdom, with future plans to assist in
rebuilding historic sites in Syria, according to company CEO
Jerry Inzerillo.
Inzerillo revealed that discussions
with Syrian officials have explored the possibility of contributing to the
restoration of iconic locations such as Damascus and Aleppo once conditions
allow. He noted that while Diriyah’s team remains focused on ongoing
developments in Saudi Arabia, the company is open to supporting future cultural
restoration efforts abroad.
