Diriyah Company has awarded a $244 million contract to a joint venture between Al-Majal El-Arabi Group and MAN Enterprise AlSaudia for the development of the Grand Mosque, a landmark component of the second phase of the Diriyah mega project northwest of Riyadh.

According to a post by Diriyah Company on X, the Grand Mosque will span 12,300 square metres and accommodate up to 11,400 worshippers, including 5,240 indoors and 6,160 outdoors. Designed by X Architects, the project blends Najdi architectural heritage with modern engineering and sustainable design principles, reflecting Diriyah’s commitment to cultural authenticity and innovation.

The Grand Mosque will serve as a central spiritual and architectural feature within Diriyah Gate, one of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious heritage and urban regeneration projects.

This announcement follows Diriyah Company’s recent SAR 5.75 billion ($1.53 billion) contract awarded in July to China Harbour Engineering Company for the construction of the arena block, which includes Diriyah Arena, three mixed-use office buildings, and a parking complex—further underscoring the project's momentum and scale.
