Saudi Arabia: Visa holders of all categories can now perform Umrah

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that holders of all types of visas are now permitted to perform Umrah during their stay in the Kingdom — a move that aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to expand religious tourism and facilitate access for Muslims worldwide.

In an official statement, the Ministry confirmed that the decision applies to a wide range of visa categories, including personal visit visas, family visit visas, electronic tourist visas, transit and stopover visas, and work permits. Visitors holding any of these visas can now travel to Makkah to perform Umrah at their convenience.

The Ministry emphasized that this initiative reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the experience of pilgrims and ensuring that Muslims from across the globe can fulfill their religious obligations with ease, comfort, and peace of mind.

“This step comes as part of the Ministry’s continuous efforts to streamline procedures for the guests of Allah and to expand access to Umrah services, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030,” the statement said.

To further simplify the process, the Ministry has launched the ‘Nusuk Umrah’ digital platform, which allows pilgrims to book packages, select convenient times, and obtain Umrah permits electronically. The integrated platform offers a seamless digital experience designed to enrich the spiritual journey and make Umrah arrangements more accessible than ever before.

The Ministry added that these facilitative measures reflect the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to enable Muslims worldwide to visit the Two Holy Mosques and perform their rituals in a safe, spiritual, and well-serviced environment.
