Saudi Arabia: ACWA Power signs deal with Indian company for planned Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub

ACWA Power, the Saudi renewables developer behind the 2.2GW Neom green hydrogen and ammonia hub, has signed an early-stage deal with India’s Larsen & Toubro to support the renewable energy and grid infrastructure for its planned 4GW Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub.

Similar to the Neom facility, Yanbu is expected to rely on its own wind and solar generation, supplemented by battery storage.

The agreement is currently a memorandum of understanding. Larsen & Toubro has committed to moving forward with an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract once ACWA Power approves the final project proposal.

ACWA Power has already signed a FEED contract with Tecnicas Reunidas and Sinopec but has yet to confirm an electrolyser supplier.
