Saudi Arabia to host International Restoration Week to open in Diriyah
The Saudi Heritage Commission has announced that it will host the International Restoration Week exhibition
from October 1–5 at
Diriyah’s JAX District, gathering leading local and international institutions
specializing in heritage conservation.
The five-day event will spotlight the latest practices and technologies in
urban heritage restoration while promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange
among global experts.

As part of the Commission’s ongoing mission to protect and promote Saudi
Arabia’s cultural legacy, the exhibition emphasizes the preservation of the
Kingdom’s 34,000-plus recorded
heritage assets. It highlights restoration not only as a
safeguard for historic sites and cultural identity but also as a means of
sustainably integrating heritage into modern life.
Participants from at least 12
countries are expected to attend, reinforcing the event’s role
as a global platform for dialogue and cooperation in cultural preservation.
Through International Restoration Week, the Heritage Commission reaffirms Saudi
Arabia’s commitment to aligning with international best practices and
strengthening its leadership in global heritage stewardship.
