Saudi Arabia’s NEOM confers awards on stakeholders for outstanding contributions

NEOM, the visionary sustainable development in northwest Saudi Arabia, hosted its first-ever NEOM Social Responsibility Awards ceremony on Wednesday, August 14. Organized by NEOM Social Responsibility (NEOM SR), the event recognized the exceptional contributions made by NEOM’s employees, sectors, departments, partners, and communities in the region.

Congratulating the winners, NEOM CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr stated: “Our dedication to social responsibility is deeply rooted in our core values and aligns perfectly with NEOM's vision and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Sustainability is one of NEOM’s foundational pillars, driving us to innovate and take actions that create lasting, positive impacts. The remarkable efforts of our teams and individuals in fostering meaningful change underscore our commitment to building a sustainable future that benefits not just our communities, but our entire nation. We are proud to celebrate these contributions, which embody our shared vision for a prosperous and inclusive future.”

The ceremony saw attendance from NEOM executives, employees, business partners, school students, and members of the local NEOM and Tabuk communities. Nineteen winners were celebrated across three primary award categories: NEOM Sectors, NEOM Partners, and NEOM Individuals. Additionally, there were five sub-categories: NEOM Employees, NEOM Families, NEOM Community School Students, Partner Employees, and Local Community members.

In the NEOM Sectors category, the winners were NEOM Operations, THE LINE proponent, and Oxagon. The NEOM Partners category honored Nesma & Partners, Ernst & Young [EY], and King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). The NEOM Individuals category recognized 13 individuals, including Bader Aljishi, Waleed BinSalman, Farida Qtishat, Salima Rahim, Juanita van Tonder, Gunay Aghayeva, Amarah Rahim, Aritom Pokidysevn, Nadirah Rahim, Thadickal V Joydas, Sultan Alharbi, Reema Alfakhri, and Anas Alshafi.

The NEOM Social Responsibility Awards were established to spotlight best practices and outstanding contributions from individuals and institutions dedicated to social responsibility. Aligned with NEOM's mission to empower local communities and enhance human capacity through sustainable initiatives, the awards aim to inspire broader participation in social projects by individuals and enterprises alike.

These awards are a significant milestone in NEOM SR’s mission to accelerate progress, enhance the quality of life, and add value to the communities of NEOM and Tabuk. In 2023, NEOM’s social responsibility programs benefited 50,000 people. A total of 26 projects were awarded to companies in Tabuk, and 583 individuals from NEOM and Tabuk secured employment opportunities. Additionally, NEOM introduced its first integrated volunteering ecosystem, engaging over 1,300 volunteers across 68 different opportunities to serve their communities.

Through its role as a driver of socioeconomic growth, NEOM SR fosters a culture of social responsibility across NEOM and its regions, inspiring all stakeholders to contribute to building responsible communities.
