Pascal Wehrlein aims for strong performance at Diriyah E-Prix in Saudi Arabia

Pascal Wehrlein hopes to replicate previous success at Diriyah E-Prix in Saudi Arabia

Formula E driver Pascal Wehrlein is eager to compete in Diriyah next weekend and acknowledges the need for a flawless performance to replicate last year's success in Riyadh.

Coming off a victory in the season-opener in Mexico, the Porsche driver is preparing for rounds two and three on January 26 and 27. Having triumphed in both races in the previous season, Wehrlein recognizes the challenges he faces this year and emphasizes the high standards he sets for himself.

Diriyah E-Prix double-header: Night races and electrifying entertainment await

He states, "It's the biggest pressure I put on myself as I want to win and I want to be faultless. All the drivers want to win and work hard, and we are going to Diriyah with a lot of confidence. Mexico was strong, but we need to be 100 percent prepared and ready. I still need to do the job, and hopefully, we can have a strong weekend in Diriyah."

The races in Riyadh mark the first double-header of the season and are distinctive as the only night races on the calendar.

Anticipation building around 2024 Diriyah E-Prix at Riyadh Street Circuit

Wehrlein comments on the uniqueness of the Riyadh track, stating, "Riyadh is a special track, and we are racing at night, which is one of the biggest differences, as it's a typical Formula E street circuit. The conditions in Riyadh are a bit special as there's sand on the track, but over time, it gradually goes, meaning the lap times are a lot faster. It's going to be tough, but we will be ready."

The street circuit surrounding the UNESCO World Heritage Site provides a picturesque setting for rounds two and three, creating an exciting backdrop for the races.

Ticketholders can anticipate a day of family entertainment in the Allianz Fan Village before the races, featuring activities such as racing simulators in the gaming arena, live music, and street food.
