Qatar Airways inaugurates maiden flight to NEOM Bay
A significant development has occurred in Qatar-Saudi
relations as Qatar Airways launches its newest flight service to NEOM Bay
Airport.
The landmark inaugural flight from Doha's Hamad

era in regional connectivity. Employing an Airbus A320-214, the airline has
planned two weekly flights covering the 1,650-mile route.

Qatar Airways flight 1205 will depart from NEOM Bay to Doha
at 14:00 on Saturdays and 13:40 on Thursdays. Conversely, the return flight,
Qatar Airways flight 1204, is scheduled to leave Hamad International Airport at

NEOM, a visionary project in the northwest of Saudi Arabia,
symbolizes a forward-thinking city focused on innovation and progress. Qatar
Airways' introduction of this service is a strategic move to bolster regional
airline connectivity, aligning with the goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
Saudi
Arabia looking to attract $100 billion in aviation investments by 2030
Vision 2030, introduced in 2016, seeks to diversify the
Saudi economy beyond oil, emphasizing economic, social, and cultural
connectivity. Saudi Arabia aims to position itself as a central hub in the Arab
and Islamic worlds, drawing inspiration from successful models in Doha and
Dubai. Integral to this vision are the six-runway King Salman International
Airport in Riyadh and the futuristic NEOM city, which includes the NEOM Bay
airport.
Qatar Airways becomes the fourth airline offering passenger
services to NEOM Bay, joining the ranks of Flyadeal, flydubai, and Saudia. This
new service to NEOM Bay marks Qatar Airways' tenth destination in Saudi Arabia,
complementing its existing routes to AlUla, Dammam, Gassim, Jeddah, Medina,
Riyadh, Tabuk, Taif, and Yanbu. The airline is a major player, operating over
125 daily flights within the country.
