New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) appoints Michael Dyke
as its new CEO
The New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) proudly announced
the appointment of Michael Dyke as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO),
effective from January 8, 2024.
Bringing with him a distinguished career marked by
leadership in large-scale enterprises and significant projects, Michael Dyke
currently holds a pivotal role in Balfour Beatty, overseeing Europe's largest
infrastructure endeavor, the HS2 project.
Established on February 16, 2023, NMDC is at the forefront
of the groundbreaking New Murabba project, a transformative urban development
initiative in Riyadh. This ambitious project aims to create the world's most
extensive, dynamic, and sustainable downtown area, aligning seamlessly with the
goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030 for urban advancement.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Michael Dyke
stated, "I am deeply honored to lead NMDC and the creation of Riyadh's new
downtown. With the unwavering support of stakeholders and our dedicated team,
we aim to deliver a premier destination that will enrich Riyadh and Saudi
Arabia for future generations and attract global visitors."
Acknowledging the significant contributions of Sabah Barakat,
the acting CEO, NMDC expressed gratitude for his efforts. Barakat will continue
to contribute to NMDC in his capacity as Senior Director at PIF. Notable
achievements during Barakat's tenure include forming the management team,
developing the master plan, advancing the Mukaab design, awarding key project
contracts, initiating site works, and successfully excavating over 2 million
cubic meters at Mukaab, the centerpiece of the new Murabba development.
