Joint venture awarded contract for Qiddiya Water Park Hotel
Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya Investment Company has chosen a joint
venture consisting of local contractor Albawani and Qatar-based Urbacon Trading
& Contracting Company to oversee the construction of the Water Park Hotel
within Qiddiya's resort core. The completion date for this project is set for
January 2026, and it will involve the creation of a luxurious five-star hotel
featuring 550 rooms spread over 12 floors.
The foundation works for this project were executed by
Qatari Ammico Contracting Company, while project consultancy services are being
provided by Dubai-based DSA Architects International and the UK's Omto
Architects.

Notably, the contract for constructing the water park
itself, which is designed to be the largest in the region with 23 rides and
attractions, was awarded to local El-Seif Engineering Contracting and UAE-based
Alec in February 2022. This water park spans an impressive 250,000 square
meters, with 40,000 square meters dedicated to building structures. Dewan
Architects & Engineers, based in the UAE, are serving as the project
consultants for the water park.
Qiddiya is a sprawling entertainment destination that is
taking shape on a vast 367-square-kilometer site, located approximately 45
kilometers from the center of Riyadh city. The project is directly funded by
the Public Investment Fund and aims to become a prominent hub for leisure and
entertainment in the region.
