Joint venture awarded contract for Qiddiya Water Park Hotel

Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya Investment Company has chosen a joint venture consisting of local contractor Albawani and Qatar-based Urbacon Trading & Contracting Company to oversee the construction of the Water Park Hotel within Qiddiya's resort core. The completion date for this project is set for January 2026, and it will involve the creation of a luxurious five-star hotel featuring 550 rooms spread over 12 floors.

The foundation works for this project were executed by Qatari Ammico Contracting Company, while project consultancy services are being provided by Dubai-based DSA Architects International and the UK's Omto Architects.

Notably, the contract for constructing the water park itself, which is designed to be the largest in the region with 23 rides and attractions, was awarded to local El-Seif Engineering Contracting and UAE-based Alec in February 2022. This water park spans an impressive 250,000 square meters, with 40,000 square meters dedicated to building structures. Dewan Architects & Engineers, based in the UAE, are serving as the project consultants for the water park.

Qiddiya is a sprawling entertainment destination that is taking shape on a vast 367-square-kilometer site, located approximately 45 kilometers from the center of Riyadh city. The project is directly funded by the Public Investment Fund and aims to become a prominent hub for leisure and entertainment in the region.
