Saudi Arabia aims to attract 4 million Chinese tourists by 2030

Saudi Arabia is making significant efforts to draw 4 million Chinese tourists to the country by 2030, according to Haifa Al Saud, the nation's vice-minister of tourism. As part of this initiative, Saudi Arabia plans to implement Mandarin-speaking tour guides and mobile payment options for the convenience of Chinese visitors. The move is seen as a proactive step to promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Several measures have already been put in place to facilitate Chinese tourists' visits to Saudi Arabia. These include China's inclusion in Saudi Arabia's expedited e-visa program and SAUDIA airline offering a one-night hotel stay to passengers on a 96-hour stopover visa. Riyadh's airport has also introduced signage in Chinese, and additional initiatives such as the Chinese-language tourist portal VisitSaudi.cn, a Chinese-language hotline, and the UnionPay card program have been established.

 

Saudi Arabia becoming a magnet of entertainment and tourism

 

The goal is to ensure that Chinese tourists not only see Chinese signs but can also communicate with Mandarin-speaking Saudi guides during their visits. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is working on providing mobile payment options that align with the preferences of Chinese visitors.

Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program aims to increase tourism to the country to 100 million annual visits by 2030. To support this goal, the nation is continually expanding its public transportation system, with plans to open the metro system in Riyadh and establish more bus stops in major cities over the next two years.
