Red Sea Film Foundation supports three high-profile international films

The Red Sea Film Foundation of Saudi Arabia made a significant announcement on Friday, revealing its investment in three star-studded movies: "Modi," featuring Johnny Depp, Michael Mann's Venice title "Ferrari," and Guy Ritchie's Second World War espionage thriller "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare."

Mohammed Al-Turki, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, stated, "Red Sea International Film Financing serves as a platform for us to bolster our acclaimed storytellers, esteemed directors, and foster opportunities for cultural exchange."

In an Instagram post, Al-Turki further elaborated, "Building on the success of our first international co-production with Maiwenn's highly anticipated Cannes opener 'Jeanne du Barry,' we are thrilled to contribute to Michael Mann's compelling narrative, focusing on a pivotal year in the life of Enzo Ferrari, as well as supporting Johnny Depp's captivating exploration of the life and art of Modigliani, which marks Depp's return to directing, and Guy Ritchie's dynamic exploration of renegades during the Second World War in 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.'"

The exact financial details of the investments have yet to be disclosed.

According to Deadline, the foundation also unveiled plans for Depp's film, which represents his second directorial effort after the 1997 feature "The Brave." This movie will serve as a pilot for a new program aimed at welcoming Saudi interns to gain practical experience across various film departments, including art, camera, and production.

Al-Turki attended the world premiere of "Ferrari" at the Venice Festival, gracing the red carpet in an elegant black tuxedo.

Notably, Lebanese presenter Raya Abirached was also in attendance at the event, making several appearances on the red carpet. She graced the opening night in an off-white guipure mermaid gown adorned with delicate tassels of leaves and crystals by Syrian designer Rami Al-Ali. Later in the evening, she dazzled in a colorful, glitzy dress designed by Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika, complemented by Bulgari jewelry.
