Significant progress
witnessed at Red Sea Global's Amaala Project
Red Sea Global, the
visionary Saudi developer behind some of the world's most ambitious tourism
hubs, has provided updates on the significant advancements at its luxurious
development, Amaala. This ultra-luxury destination is situated along the
northwestern coastline of Saudi Arabia. Work is now underway on Phase I of the
Employee Village project, while excavation for Marina Village and the Red Sea
Marine Life Institute is making substantial headway.
Amaala is an
integrated wellness sanctuary being crafted year-round by Red Sea Global on
Saudi Arabia's northwestern coast, approximately 700 km north of Jeddah.
Spanning a vast area of 4,155 sq km, including 68 km of coastline, the project
aims to go beyond mere sustainability by positively impacting the environment
with a 30% net conservation benefit to local ecosystems by 2040. This will be
achieved through enhancing diverse habitats including mangroves, seagrass,
corals, and land vegetation.
Red Sea Global has
reported that Phase I of its Employee Village project, designed to provide
premium accommodation for the staff who will manage the destination and their
families, has commenced. Progress is also evident at the Marina Village
project, which serves as the urban core for Triple Bay – one of the three
distinctive communities that will offer varied experiences to Amaala visitors.
Triple Bay is
envisioned as a dynamic hub for retail, food and beverages, residences, and
hospitality. It will encompass a comprehensive wellness retreat, advanced
diagnostic medical facilities, authentic treatments inspired by the local
environment, and a fully integrated sports and entertainment community.
In a project update
video, Red Sea Global shared that excavation work is advancing for both the
Marina Village and the Red Sea Marine Life Institute – a scientific research
center and tourist attraction within Amaala.
For the Marina Village
project, approximately 1,105,600 cubic meters out of the total 1,325,000 cubic
meters have been excavated. Similarly, significant excavation is underway at
the Institute, with 28,000 cubic meters completed out of 34,000 cubic meters.
Progress has also been made on the Red Sea Marine Life Institute's main
building raft, with 85% completion. The submarine raft has been fully
completed, and work is ongoing on columns, retaining walls, and ground floor
slabs.
Phase One of Amaala,
focused on the Triple Bay masterplan, is slated to welcome its first guests in
2025. The phase comprises eight resorts offering over 1,200 hotel keys. Upon
completion, Amaala will feature more than 3,900 hotel rooms across 29 hotels,
around 1,200 luxury residential villas, apartments, and estate homes, along with
upscale retail establishments, fine dining venues, wellness facilities, and
recreational amenities.
The entire development
will be powered by 100% renewable energy, resulting in a reduction of nearly
half a million tons of CO2 emissions annually and operating with a zero-carbon
footprint when fully operational.
Amaala's current
roster of hotel brands within the integrated wellness haven includes Clinique
La Prairie Health Resort, Jayasom Wellness Resort, Rosewood Amaala, Six Senses
Amaala, and Equinox Resort Amaala.
To date, Amaala has
awarded construction contracts valued at SAR13.4 billion ($3.57 billion). This
mega development is expected to elevate Saudi Arabia's tourism sector,
contributing as much as SAR11 billion ($3 billion) and nearly 1% to the
nation's GDP upon its projected completion in 2030. Furthermore, it is
anticipated to create up to 50,000 new direct, indirect, and induced jobs.
