Red Sea Global unites 3,000 local farms into Tamala Company

In Saudi Arabia, a novel food and farming cooperative has emerged, comprising over 3,000 farms within the Kingdom. Spearheaded by Red Sea Global, this collective effort known as The Red Sea Farm Cooperative, or Tamala, will initially serve The Red Sea and Amaala regions.

Through this cooperative, Red Sea Global (RSG) is empowering farmers to directly vend their produce to its resorts. Furthermore, it aims to introduce advanced farming technologies that enhance productivity while upholding sustainability principles.

John Pagano, CEO of RSG Group, remarked, "Empowering and supporting regional agriculture enables Red Sea Global to provide our guests with fresh and sustainable produce. We remain committed to responsibly sourcing food and bolstering the local economy."

Moreover, this cooperative fosters knowledge-sharing among local farmers, fostering the implementation of best practices and fair pricing for produce. The initiative supports farmers in adopting novel techniques and integrating new technologies. Collaborating harmoniously with Red Sea Global, the goal is to optimize their businesses in alignment with the increasing tourism influx to the region.

Board of Experts for Tamala To oversee the cooperative and cater to the needs of participating farmers, a board of directors has been established.

Comprising 29 agricultural experts and local farmers, this board works to assist farmers in attaining maximal returns from their high-quality produce. Agricultural specialists will provide guidance to enhance efficiency and facilitate a transition toward more sustainable farming methods. This encompasses education on contemporary approaches such as enhancing irrigation techniques.

The newly appointed chairman of Tamala, Dr. Abdullah Al-Dubaikhi, conveyed, "Tamala presents a significant opportunity for Saudi agriculture. Our strategic plan has been meticulously crafted through extensive analysis of Tabuk's environmental ecosystems, identifying opportunities, challenges, as well as local resources."

Through initiatives like Tamala, Red Sea Global aims to foster a holistic approach to regional food production, marrying modern technologies with sustainable practices for the benefit of both the local economy and the environment.
