Aetcon wins $155 million contract for NEOM Power Transmission Line

Saudi-headquartered Arabian Electrical Transmission Line Contracting (Aetcon) has triumphed in securing a pivotal contract for the construction of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line within Saudi Arabia's visionary city, NEOM.

Esteemed at $155 million, this contract forms an integral part of the 'Saudi Neom-Yanbu 525kV HVDC Transmission Line Construction Project' and has been bestowed by the Saudi Electricity Company.

The undertaking encompasses an expansion of the power network through the erection of an HVDC transmission line spanning a considerable distance of 605 km. The line will extend from Yanbu, a prominent power generation hub situated along the western shoreline of Saudi Arabia, to the nascent city of NEOM.

Anticipated to conclude in July 2027, the project's realization is poised to bolster the region's power infrastructure and contribute to the transformative vision of NEOM.
