IGY Marinas and NEOM join forces to develop Sindalah Marina project
IGY Marinas and NEOM have joined forces to collaborate on the development and operation of the Sindalah Marina project in Saudi Arabia.
The partnership between IGY Marinas and NEOM aims to
establish and manage Sindalah Marina, a luxurious island destination within
NEOM. With numerous ongoing developments in the region, IGY Marinas is
well-positioned to leverage its global expertise in the Gulf area.
The marina is expected to
feature 86 berths capable of accommodating yachts up to 50 meters in length,
along with additional serviced offshore buoys for superyachts up to 180 meters.
IGY Marinas plans to open Sindalah Marina by the first quarter of 2024, as
stated in their official announcement.
Antoni Vives, Head of Urban Development at NEOM, expresses confidence that Sindalah will emerge as an enchanting and vibrant yachting destination. He highlights the strategic location, exceptional amenities, and breathtaking natural landscapes that will contribute to its appeal.
The partnership with IGY is regarded as a significant step
towards realizing NEOM's vision of reshaping the global yachting calendar, with
NEOM positioned conveniently within a day's cruising distance from the
Mediterranean Sea.
The Red Sea is evolving from
being solely a transit route for yachts traveling from the Mediterranean to the
Indian Ocean and Asia into a world-class yachting destination in its own right.
While the developments in the region are still in their early stages compared
to Mohammed Bin Salman's ambitious vision, progress is already underway in the
northwestern parts of Saudi Arabia.
Tom Mukamal, CEO of IGY Marinas,
emphasizes that Sindalah perfectly aligns with the company's global vision of
connecting remarkable yachting destinations through their expanding marina
network. The inclusion of NEOM in the IGY platform will provide superyacht
owners, captains, and charter guests unparalleled destinations, service, and
convenience. IGY Marinas eagerly anticipates the opportunity to showcase this
extraordinary new destination to the international yachting community.
The NEOM project aims to
transform the Red Sea coast into a prominent luxury destination and is expected
to have a positive impact on the future of the superyacht industry. However, it
is crucial to involve established stakeholders in the superyacht industry to
ensure that the development is executed sustainably and efficiently.
