Envision Energy to supply 1.67GW of wind turbines for Neom
Envision Energy, a green
technology company, has been awarded a contract by Air Products to supply
1.67GW of wind turbines for the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project.
This project is recognized as
the world's largest utility-scale hydrogen plant, operating solely on renewable
energy sources.
The facility, situated in Oxagon
within Saudi Arabia's NEOM region, aims to generate 600 tonnes of carbon-free
hydrogen per day by the end of 2026.
To achieve this goal, Envision
will install 171-6.5MW wind turbines, supported by 4GW of solar and wind
energy.
Zhang Lei, CEO of Envision
Energy, expressed that this contract signifies a significant milestone for both
companies involved and for the industries as a whole.
In March, NEOM Green Hydrogen
Company announced the successful financial close of the hydrogen production
facility, with a total investment value of $8.4bn.
Additionally, they finalized an
engineering, procurement, and construction agreement with Air Products, valued
at $6.7bn.
The NEOM Green
Hydrogen Project is a collaborative venture among ACWA Power, Air Products, and
NEOM Green Hydrogen Company.
