Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Company has awarded a construction contract worth an estimated SR730 million ($195 million) to local contractor RTCC for the development of civic quarter buildings within the larger Diriyah project in Riyadh.

The contract was awarded to Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting Company and covers the construction of a range of administrative and public service facilities designed to support the expanding mixed-use development.

The package includes office buildings, a post office, civil defence facilities, a police station, a traffic police station and the Diriyah operations centre.

According to industry tracker MEED Projects, bids for the contract were submitted in December 2025.

The award marks the latest in a series of major construction contracts issued by Diriyah Company as development accelerates across the historic destination on the outskirts of Riyadh.

Earlier this year, the developer awarded a SR1.84 billion ($490 million) contract for the construction of the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art to a consortium comprising Egypt’s Hassan Allam Construction and Saudi Arabia’s Albawani.

In March, Diriyah Company also awarded an estimated SR2.5 billion ($666 million) contract for the Pendry superblock package in the DG2 district. The development includes the Pendry Hotel alongside residential and commercial components spanning more than 75,000 square metres in the northwestern section of the district.

Another contract valued at SR717 million ($192 million) was awarded earlier for the construction of the One Hotel in the Diriyah Two area, featuring a gross floor area exceeding 31,000 square metres.

The broader Diriyah masterplan aims to transform the area into a major cultural, heritage and lifestyle tourism destination under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy. Located northwest of central Riyadh, the 14-square-kilometre development is designed to combine the Kingdom’s rich history and heritage with modern hospitality, residential and commercial offerings.
